Hyundai Motor Company, a leading South Korean automaker, has committed to a significant $21 billion investment in the United States. As part of this initiative, the company will construct a $5.8 billion steel plant in Louisiana, designed to produce 2.7 million metric tons of steel annually and generate 1,400 new jobs. This announcement comes just days before President Donald Trump is poised to impose new tariffs on U.S. trading partners.
In total, the investment is expected to create 14,000 full-time jobs and enhance U.S. production capacity by an additional 1.2 million vehicles. President Trump remarked on Monday that the move "clearly demonstrates the effectiveness of tariffs."
