South Korea's Constitutional Court has ruled in favor of Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, overturning his impeachment and allowing him to remain in office as the country's second-highest-ranking official. The court's decision, made with a 7-1 majority, is a significant legal victory for Han.
However, this ruling does not provide much insight into the upcoming decision regarding President Yoon Suk Yeol, who was impeached in December over his involvement in the imposition of martial law. The outcome of Yoon's case remains uncertain as the legal proceedings continue.
Shortly after the verdict, Han Duck-soo thanked the court for what he called "a wise decision" and pledged to focus on addressing "urgent matters" facing the country. With the impeachment behind him, Han is now turning his attention to the important issues that lie ahead for South Korea.
