A federal judge in New York has dismissed the federal corruption charges against Mayor Eric Adams. The case was dismissed with prejudice, meaning it cannot be reopened or revisited.
The Department of Justice had requested the dismissal, allowing Mayor Adams to "focus fully on addressing the challenges of illegal immigration and rising violent crime, which were exacerbated by the policies of the previous administration."
Alex Spiro, the mayor's attorney, issued a statement saying, "The case against Eric Adams should never have been initiated, and today it has been permanently dismissed. From the outset, the mayor has consistently maintained his innocence, and today justice for both Mayor Adams and the people of New York has prevailed."
