Mia Love, First African-American Republican Woman, Dies At 49

Mia Love, the first African-American Republican woman elected to the United States Congress, has passed away at the age of 49 after a courageous battle with cancer. She died peacefully at her home in Utah, surrounded by her family.

In a statement shared on social media platforms, including X and Facebook, her family expressed deep gratitude for the lasting impact Mia had on their lives, stating, "With grateful hearts filled to overflowing for the profound influence of Mia on our lives, we want you to know that she passed away peacefully today."

Mia Love made history in 2014 when she was elected as the first Black Republican woman to serve in Congress. She represented Utah’s 4th Congressional District for four years, during which she was known for her strong leadership, commitment to public service, and dedication to her community.
