Measles Cases in Texas Climb to 400, U.S. Tally Approaches 500

The number of measles cases linked to the outbreak in western Texas has risen to 400, with 73 new cases reported in the past three days. An additional 44 cases have been reported in New Mexico. Of these cases, 398 were either unvaccinated or had an unknown vaccination status.
Children and teenagers aged 5 to 17 account for 164 cases, while 131 cases involve children aged 4 and under.
In the last three months alone, the number of measles cases has already surpassed the total reported for all of 2024, with the CDC recording 285 cases for the entire year.
