USC Trojans standout guard JuJu Watkins will miss the remainder of the 2024 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament due to a torn ACL in her right knee. The injury occurred during the first quarter of Monday's second-round matchup against No. 9 Mississippi State.
Watkins, the 2024 Big Ten Player of the Year, had been delivering an exceptional season, averaging 23.9 points per game and 6.8 rebounds per game, and was a frontrunner for National Player of the Year honors.
Despite her injury, the Trojans secured a commanding 96-59 victory and will now advance to the Sweet 16, where they will face No. 5 seed Kansas State.
